Poppy's Doggy Party!
Last Weekend my neice Poppy turned 3! Poppy and I have something very important in common. We Love Dogs!
My Sister Janette decided to throw an "All things doggy" Theme Party. She had doggy cupcakes and even a special cake in a dog bowl covered with Cocoa Puffs (I don't think I can ever view them the same again as I now can see how much they really look like Dog food). There was a bouncy house (which doubled as "the pound"), Obedience school (the kids did tricks and got treats), Dog catchers (daddy's chased kids and put them in the pound), Homemade doggy ears for everyone to wear, and lots of great food. We had a really fun time.

Project #1
Staining the wood right after cutting it.
Securing the stained supports into the wall. He looks so happy.
All Finished with edging and everything. I just need to Stain our stools the proper color now and it'll be all done!
A perfect fit!

Since into our new place, we really missed having our little convenient "Breakfast Nook Bar" thing we had in our old kitchen. We found ourselves standing in the kitchen and eating most of our meals, rather than going just around the corner to our dining table for some reason.
So, Mark decided to take on the task of making us one. Mark claims he is "Not" handy, but I'm pretty sure he just does this to not have too many projects on the go! His secret is out!

Last Saturday, Mark made this! I'm so proud! His perfectionist trait really comes in "Handy"! His measurements and everything are to a "T"! He meaured everything and it all fits like a glove, he stained the wood, secured supports the the wall (this is more time consuming than it seems) secured the "table"portion to the supports and made really nice edging to finish the whole thing off!
next project... a wall and door downstairs!
