Two Years Old!

Josh has turned two!  He has now figured out the fun and excitment that takes place at Birthday parties and could NOT wait for his own to come.  He knew that his actual birthday was on the 10th and was very confused why Mommy and Daddy would wait (what seemed like an eternity) one week to celebrate.  Every single day he'd ask "When people come?" , "When sing Happy Birthday?". It was a great lesson in Patience and when the day finally came he was so happy!
We were able to have some friends and family come over for Cake and to just hang out for a bit. Josh loves all things "Construction" so that was the theme of the party.  The cake looks elaborate  but it really was the easiest cake in the world.   The worse it looked (pieces falling off, not iced perfectly etc)... the better it ultimately made it look.   Josh loved it which is all that mattered and it tasted pretty good. (to me Birthday cake MUST taste good or there is no point!)

We had a fun time and Josh still talks about it and sings the "Happy Birthday" song regularily to help himself fall asleep at night!

We are so grateful for this little guy and the Joy he brings into our lives.  He is a great kid and we love him so much!

Calgary Temple Trip!

A few weeks ago we went on a little family Road trip to attend the Calgary Temple Open House.  We had a Great time.  On the Friday night we attended the Open House. Josh LOVED it.  The Temple is absolutely Beautiful and we can't wait to go back again.

The next day, we spent some time swimming at the Hotel, spending time with cousins and just relaxing.

Hanging with his cool Cousins! He had a great time.

Josh unfortunately fell asleep prior to taking pictures at the temple so we just left him out...   doesn't he look comfy? I wish I could sleep like that!

Here's some photos from our trip!   Sorry I am not much of a blogger anymore...  I just have lots to do and forget all the time. I will try to keep family posted more often with our on-goings. At least with photos!

Ontario Trip

We had an absolutely wonderful time out in Ontario and I can't wait too long to share some pictures of our fun trip.     The plane ride there with Josh was actually very enjoyable with no tears or complaints and a fun three hour lay-over in Toronto riding all the conveyor belts. He was quite the dream child really.

We were very excited to make it up to the Cottage where we were able to spend a few days with Papa. Josh sure loves him... from a distance.   He is a very shy little guy and really loves new people and talks about them constantly, but he's not much for showing that affection in public. Maybe in time!   Papa made a great impression and Josh really loved him a lot, he still talks about him and yells with excitement when he sees his pictures from the trip.

The first night we got to the Cottage we went straight for the water. Josh LOVED it. He splashed and splashed and jumped endlessly on the water trampoline. Due to all the traveling and lack of sleep, Josh quickly fell asleep on Mark while we all sat around and caught up a bit.

The next day Josh woke up talking about the water and ready to get right back in. We did some kayaking, swimming and also went for a ride on the boat. All of which Josh initially refused and we quickly refused his refusal and made him have fun! (poor child huh?)    He quickly forgave us and had a great time with everything.   Later that night we went down to Tobermory for a walk (which included Ice Cream of course) and then over to Singing Sands.  Josh LOVED this. He ran and ran and ran some more going straight into the water with no hesitation.  Here are some pictures or this fun day.

On Sunday afternoon we were joined by Nana! We were very excited to see her. Josh again took a few hours to warm up to her but then he was a chatterbox soon enough. Josh Loves his Nana and Papa!  How could he not?  He had the greatest week ever with them!  Never does he get to wake up every morning with a lake in his front yard and eat ice cream daily! This is livin'!

Here are some pictures of all of our fun times with Nana and Papa. More ice cream, a trip to the visitors centre, swims in the Bay, walks in the harbour and also at singing sands!

Mark's Ears serve another great purpose!

On Sunday evening, Scott and Cassandra were able to come up to the cottage for a day to visit! Talk about super troopers. They pretty much drove all the way from Palmyra, took a small rest at home then up to the cottage for one day, just to turn around and go for another long drive down to girls camp. We were amazed with their sacrifice and we had a very wonderful time with them. Josh adores every single cousin and looks up to them so much. He was laughing his head off at Brett, Jesse and Samantha as they played games with him (splashing and with a slinky). When they had to leave the next day, Josh sat at the door saying " Kids?... Go..." and then he went and laid down on the rug in the cottage very sad. He LOVES being around other kids and these cousins were amazing! He talked about Brett and Jesse that whole evening and the entire car ride to London the next day to see them again. He was so excited. Here are some pictures of our fun times with cousins!

Playing Uno in French is quite crazy!

The plane ride home was less than fun with a WAY over-tired hyper-active Josh.  Mark was ready to give up flying ever again and I ensured him next time we'd trust our good friend Benadryl (yes... it was that bad).
All in all, the trip was a major success. We had such a great time in Ontario and made many memories.    Unfortunetly one of the not so great memories was coming home to a Flooded Basement.  That usual "Home sweet Home" feeling that we usually get was not very present as we walked in the door to this...  Mark kept trying to look on the bright side by saying we could just have an indoor pool/ skating rink in the winter.... this made it feel a bit more glamourous.

So much for having some extra money this year for the first time!    It really isn't fun and we definately are not thrilled about it, but things could've been worse and we are just glad we are all fine and really that's all that matters.  It's just money... right?

Let the repairing begin.

18 Months Old!!!!

The best 18 months ever!!! I can't believe how big he is getting! I don't want him to grow anymore.  This age is absolutely the best, filled with the cutest words/ideas and so much love and excitement. And recently sleeping 13 hours straight a night and having 2 hour naps each day (i could get used to that!)
I love this kid more than anything and I am so grateful to be his Mom!

Easter Weekend

I Know it's a little late but I thought I'd post a few pictures from our fun Easter Weekend.  We went out to my parents house on Wizard lake with my family for the day.  Here are some pics of the day.
My Dad made some PVC pipe marshmallow shooter guns and we had a "family friendly" war outside.  Everyone had bags of ammo and ran around shooting eachother. I got one in the face that REALLY HURT!   You can see my Dad in the background of this picture getting ready to shoot Mark.

Coloring eggs and eating a fun easter cake. Any cake is good when it's covered in Mini eggs!

Here's an attempt at getting all the grand-kids in one picture!  Josh has a "personal space" issue and was NOT thrilled about being close with his older cousins.  HE LOVES and adores them... but from a distance.  What a funny kid. He's not a big fan of crowds and caos (kinda like his Mom) so we are working on this! He sure is cute though.

The Loot basket.  Josh doesn't have a big love for candy (this he for sure got form Mark!)  but he was very thrilled to get a little chick with a button on it to make noise. (over and over and over)

On Sunday Afternoon we went down to our favorite spot down by the muttart and went for a long walk.  Josh loves  "Walking walking walking" as he calls it.  He tends to want to wander or focus on doing one curb over and over so if I say "WALKING" then he knows we need to make some distance and he will do anything to not have to hold my hand or get in the stroller. He is ultra MR Independant!
